how much to feed pup

hi all just wondering if im feeding the correct amount.tiger is 3 an 1/2 months and i was feeding him royal cainin, a hand full 4 times a day but the guy in the pet shop told me to feed him a full cup followed buy 6/8 of a cup.his poo has changed since ive done this,its very soft now. just looking for a bit of advice thanks all

I think if he was doing ok on what you were giving him, then there's no reason to change! If you feed too much you can upset their tums at that age. Most pups will self-regulate & only eat what they need, anyway.

Seriously, if he was growing well and his ribs weren't poking out, you were feeding him the right amounts! The only thing I would sugest is that you gradually cut back one of his meals & build up the other ones accordingly. At 14 weeks or so he's about right to gradually cut back to 3 meals a day.

I'm not sure if the cups you are using where the same as mine but when Moo was 10 months she was on Royal Canin sensitivity control and that was the amount she was on so yes seems a lot, but as Caryll said I tend not to go by what I'm told more the appearence and health of the individual dog Xx

I fed Bailey on Royal Canin and then changed to James Wellbeloved and he was getting roughly 50g per feed 3-4 times a day but I didn't like it so looked into raw feeding!
