Sticky eye
Darcy has a sticky right eye, it was slightly closed in the corner this morning! I was going to bathe it with some cooled boiled water? Would it be ok to add a little salt? Or just use the water, do we need a vet trip? all advice greatly appreciated, thanks in advance

Re: Sticky eye
I would just use the cooled water and see how it goes, if it continues than a trip to the vet would be in order. It could be a touch of conjunctivitis.

Re: Sticky eye
Yes use a saline solution, clean it and just keep an eye on it (excuse the pun!)

Re: Sticky eye
Cold black tea is what I was going to suggest, it contains Theanine it works well for helping clear up eye gunk. Old wives tale, but works very well ( as most of these things do )

Re: Sticky eye
If it doesn't clear Hayley then the stuff the vets usually give sorts it out pretty quick smart Tilly has had to go a couple of times when she was little for this

Re: Sticky eye
Sounds like bathing for a couple of days Hayley but Vin has had this and it seems to be a touch of conjunctivitis, so if doesn't clear the drops from the vets will soon clear it

Re: Sticky eye
This time of year dogs seem to get sticky eyes - I don't know if it's the chilly wind?
I'd wipe it gently with some salted water, and then hold a cold, damp tea bag over it for a minute, twice a day & give it 48 hours. If there's no improvement then a trip to her personal physician!
