Harness = chilled out dog. I'm confused!!
Hi, so got the boy a padded top fastening harness today coz he was pulling like a mad thing on the lead, worried about his wee eyes n neck! Also thought it would allow for better control, now I haven't had him out yet but I put it on him so he could get used to it and he's all chilled out, snugly and attentive......... What the???? Is it a miracle ? Have you lot been using mystic powers or something?

Don't know about special powers, there's just a lot of experience here!
A lot of dogs like to feel something around their chests, it seems to give them a feeling of security - that's why thunder shirts work.

Update, nico has been a much more relaxed boy over the past few days, have kept the harness on, vet says as long as its not rubbing and it's fitted and comfortable it should be fine, probably take it off every few days just for a brush and to let the air at him though! Think this along with changing his food and the ongoing training are helping loads, he starts one to one training classes next week. The only way is up!! Oh the vet also said he has an umbilical hernia, anyone else's furball got this? Said just to Keep an eye on it!

Are you keeping the harness on him all day or just when out for walks?
I wouldn't keep it on all the time as it may get caught on something around the house and cause an injury.

Yeah but I've been on days off so I've been with him in the house, won't leave it on if no one is with him

Thats great news sure the hard work too is paying off.
Personally I wouldnt keep the harness on all the time even if in the house.
