new lead/harness needed
hi im going to be replacing edd's leads and harness soon he did have untill 2 wks ago a nice think rope lead approx 1m long untill he pulled and it snapped the handle so currently he is on a heavy dog chain style leads witch neither me nor him like as its heavy!!!
but as i have lots of open fields by me im after a nice strong lead approx 2m length also while im hear `im looking at something to help with his pulling iv read some good reviews about the halti color but im unsure as to weather it would be strong enough on its own to walk edd on and other recommendations???

I really can't help, the halti is talked about a lot here though and recommended. Also not keen on chain leads. I have a bog standard flexi lead, but she's usually off x

Re: new lead/harness needed
I use a half check, plus a 7' long softex training lead. The lead has a brass clip at each end (so you could clip one end to a collar & the other end to a harness or halti) & 3 D rings along it so you can alter the length. The softex material is very strong, but is really easy on the hands!
You can get them off ebay or the Halti Leads are also softex. I would recommend the one & a half inch wide ones.
I know a lot of people who use haltis, gencons & gentle leaders, and there are varying reports; I think it would be trial & error.

Try this one - this is where I got mine. They also sell the half check collars, although a lot of people don't like half checks.

Re: new lead/harness needed
I use the halti lead,Harness and head halti on Taz, The halti lead has two clasps so one goes on the head halti and the other on the harness, I hold it in the middle of the the lead so when i move my wrist, thumb towards my wrist it corrects via the head halti and i turn my pinky to my wrist it corrects via the harness its been very affective

Glad you like it - I think the clip at each end is so useful. As Claire says, you can attach one end to a head collar & the other to a harness, or just use the other end as a handle.
I've found them to be very strong, but obviously, being material, very chewable! As long as your dog isn't allowed to chew & bite the lead it should last really well.
