Tied!!
I don't get it in the slightest but today Cassie and Taz tied, she isn't in season isn't swollen or bleeding, When i got back to the allotemtns they were in the bushes tied together, they soon parted, a little later on Taz tried again and Cassie let him. I did double check incase it was mounting with a little excitment but there was definatly penetration. I think something is seriousely wrong with one of their hormones I know Cassie has it but it has settled down now and Taz has been Neutered he isn't supposed to be able to tie sure he can perform but not tie and he has been.

Re: Tied!!
Is Cassie entire? Males will lock if they can (like blokes, they're not fussy)

Re: Tied!!
Yeah Cassie hasn't been spayed "yet"
When i told my vet that Taz tied with Cassie even after he was neutered she looked at me like i was stupid and i didn't know what i was looking for its supposed to be very odd.

Re: Tied!!
Maybe Taz is just being a 'bloke'? I'd watch it though as worse things have been known

Re: Tied!!
It's a bit of both, really. The dog gets a hard swelling towards the base of his penis & it's this that is gripped so hard by the bitch's muscles!

Re: Tied!!
The dog cant tie the bitch he has nothing to tie with, as you say the bitch has the muscles that tie so its obviously the bitch?Caryll wrote:It's a bit of both, really. The dog gets a hard swelling towards the base of his penis & it's this that is gripped so hard by the bitch's muscles!

Re: Tied!!
Neutered males can still tie a female, just won't be able to get them pregnant. The testicles are removed, not the glad that swells to cause the tie. If she let him and you don't see any signs of heat she may be in a silent heat. No swelling or blood is seen but it can still be a fertile heat.

Well, if the dog didn't get the swelling, there wouldn't be anything for the bitch to hold on to. But it's really academic - as long as at least one of them is neutered it doesn't matter one way or the other!

Re: Tied!!
Cassie only had a season in january and didn't finish till february thats less than three months surely she wouldn't be in season again. she does have a hormone problem though i know its going to sounds stupid maybe she's leaking? I'm also thinking the vets may of left a little testicle tissue in Taz.

Re: Tied!!
Well, it's unlikely she's in season again, but not impossible. What do you mean by the vet leaving testicle tissue in Taz?

Re: Tied!!
Sometimes the vet doesn't remove the whole lot and leaves a little tissue behind from neutering by mistake so the dog still acts like he has his testicles, when it comes to sexual behaviour and still having testosterone when that was supposed to go with the testicles

Re: Tied!!
I heard about that with female cats, didn't know the same was true in dogs! Fascinating!

Re: Tied!!
I'v read and seen it around a few Times the last time i saw it, This Staff was humpig everythnig that moved four years after being neutered, Owners took him into the vets it wasn't behavioural so they done a few testosterone test and found the surgeon left a tiny piece of testicle tissue there it was removed and the staff went back to normal behaviour.
