feeling an itsy bit smug....
Let me explain lol.... I got Axl about 6 months after my mum and dad got an English Setter pup called Harry. Harry is gorgeous and I love him to bits but man that dog is naughty! Anyway, as Axl got older my mum didn't want to walk with me and Axl as Harry was a bit of wild card in his teenage phase and my mum was worried what Axl might do if Harry growled at him. They reckoned if I had a spaniel or similar there wouldn't be a problem, no logic there but anyhoo.. the point is my mum and dad weren't happy when I got Axl, I think their words were "oh why did you get a staffy, why not get a nice dog like a spaniel and then we could walk together".
Fast-forward to last night. I'm on the phone to my mum and I hear growling, it was very very loud! At which point my mum starts to sound a bit worried and says something to my dad. Turns out my dad is trying to move Harry off the sofa so he can sit down and Harry's growling aggressively at him. Smugness incoming - I say: "oh mum you shouldn't let him do that, Axl never growls at me, in fact, when I walk towards the sofa he'll jump off and wait for me to sit down before asking to get back up" (by asking I mean he'll put his head on the sofa til I tell him to hop up). Wow that smugness felt good lol!
