Feeling old

My youngest just graduated from kindergarten. I'm feeling old now. Thats all I got to say about that.

Awww! Don't worry - my son & hopefully my daughter, start university in september! So that makes me ancient!

Just wait to get the call to say you're going to be a Grandad / Grandmother , now that's old

Thanks for the perspective. Just that my oldest is going to be in high school next year too... It is the beginning of the end that hurts so bad. Caryll, Dave and Hayley, you are just a wee be ahead on that slippery slope so I at least feel better now. Ella, you are banned.

They do grow so fast, it would be nice for it to slow down from time to time

Ah Ben! Yes I was only 5 years old when I had my first baby. It would have been in the record books, but they lost the notes

Well, the way I explain it to my kids is that a year was a lot longer back then so 5 was really like 30 today. It is just like money. That is also how I convinced them their mom was much much much older than I am (4 months).

Oh yes Ben - a year was a lot longer back then; it sometimes managed to last at least a year.

Now, a year has gone in the blink of an eye!

Seriously though I do know exactly how you feel , life accelerates , starting school , leaving infants school ....... My little princess is now 13 and starts her last school her in September and only 3 more school years until she can put 2 fingers up to the education system , though I really hope she bankrupts me by going to college

I was 36 when me and Andy got married, I then became a Great Aunty 4 times over, now that's feeling old

Encourage her to at least do A levels (or the equivalent) and study hard enough to go on to higher education. There's a whole world of supermarket till girls out there waiting for her if she leaves without good qualifications.
