Getting prepped for winter walks! Empty Getting prepped for winter walks!

And oh what a fashion statement lol my head torch made its first outing this evening. Moll also has a light on her winter collar. Good job we were shining bright when a silly cyclist with no lights rode by (very rudely as well without a bell or an excuse me!).

Took them out in the dark this evening for the first time in ages and Moll was on full alert after a bird scared her at the beginning! She takes time to adjust to walking in the dark whereas Watson is exactly the same as always running about in the hedge rows.

Rather enjoy winter walks and looking forward to buying some new wellies (and walking bits and bobs) this weekend!

Lol your just like me.... get home from work. Get changed into polar expedition gear and walk the hounds no matter the weather and actually enjoy it.

Hell yeah! I love the fact that the dogs absolutely love it even if the only exposed peice of skin is threatening to fall off. But what makes it better is getting home and getting snuggly with them afterwards while listening to the gales outside

So very true Smile Getting cold and drenched, then warm and dry with dogs and a cup of tea on return!

And routes are much quieter which means I'm not on alert for picknickers/small children etc!

I must say I don't like the winter at all, but never let it stop me from doing our regular walks.
I still would like to do our wood walks in the winter, but it is so dark so may have to invest in a huge torch,or a head torch.Big Grin

I always enjoy winter walks too, there seems to be less people around which is not good for all the dogs I know but it makes for a more peaceful walk for us. The winter weather is always a bonus too as it keeps the idiots in doors a bit more and out of my way Wink

Sundays are best... cold wood walk with all the sights and smells. Get home cook a roast with dogs sitting at your feet and pick bits off to cool down while you eat dinner. Pop chicken in bowls and pour over some cold gravey and see your dogs eat and worship you as the god of dog food. Take another walk and then all snugle on the sofa for sunday night tv with gurgaling farting dogs.
