winter coats
I have noticed Pixee does not like the cold now. She was fine when we first had her in January, with snow, frost etc. Now its going cold, she likes to be warm, I was thinking of getting her a outdoors coat, have any of you got one for your staffies, or do you let them brave the cold?

Re: winter coats
Moo has a coat, its made by 'Rambo Horsewear' its waterproof, drys quickly and she is a mucky pup so washes easily and wipes clean, I wouldn't say it was pretty but certainly practical

Romeo has mostly Hurrta equipment becuse its so heavy duty and here the winter drops below 30-, so he really needs good stuff
http://www.hurttacollection.com/en/pro-en/products/
He wears a winter jacket and then a knitted vest underneith.
this is his mid winter coat
and then here is the under vest
and the winter coat. this photo was taken last winter so thye jacket was a little big and now its too small so i will be buying a new one of the same type just bigger when the snow really starts to set in

yeah its pretty cold, but i always feel sad when i see those hairless breeds and sight hounds walking around
Re: winter coats
I dont have any pictures but Rocky has a coat that we got from our local garden centres pets corner. I think it's an Ancol one and is a bright red colour and nice and cozy warm and dry.

Re: winter coats
Wow that looks brillant kaz. Well I think I will get Pixee one, cos they do pink and the hole for the harness is what I need. I been looking and not able to find a pink one so far. Think it will be the Large one, cos Pixee from base of neck to tail is 19" and girth 25, but it says they have a 2" adjustment roun d girth and neck so should work out fine.

£3 from pets at home! I got this one and a green one, only ones left in her size. They will be great for when she's indoors during the day. Just need to find a waterproof now

Re: winter coats
I ordered one for Loki earlier from Amazon. It's waterproof but also padded or whatever. He's a wimp, he won't go outside if it's raining or cold, so I don't know what we're going to do until it arrives, but after that there will be no excuse. This guy I know whose dog Loki plays with laughed at the idea and said, "He's a dog, he has fur, don't buy him a coat. Have you ever seen a Staff with a coat? All the dogs will pick on him." Then I look here and it's coats, sweaters and the lot
Until the coat gets here, will it be OK to take Loki out in the rain without anything on, or is that just too mean? I can only imagine how hyperactive he'll be without a walk.

Wow wow, suprise, Pixees coat came today. Tested it on her today in the fields to see how she got on, after a few mins of looking and saying get it off me, and me saying 'leave' she settled down.

Re: winter coats
Thank you Janey.
Its thinner than excepted, dont reckon it would be warm enough for the cold winters, but for now for the rain etc its perfect, plus I wasnt sure how Pixee was going to take to wearing coats and didnt want to spend a lot on a first one if it wasnt going to work out, so yeah overall for price and now its perfect. Its perfect for wearing over those hoodies some of your lovely staffies wear too for that extra bit of warmth and keeping it dry in the rain. I am pleased with it Kaz.
