exercise levels??? Empty exercise levels???

Post by sonics family Wed Sep 25 2013, 18:33

hello, this has probably been asked before, but at what point does the 5 minutes per month rule stop? sonic is now 16 months and i don't know if i need to increase her exercise, on a typical day she has;

30 min on the lead walk at 6am
20 mins on the lead and about 20 minutes with her ball on the field at 9am
20 minutes on the lead and about 30 minutes on the field with her ball at 3pm
1 hour walk on lead at around 8pm

somedays she gets more than this and we play with her in the house and garden too, i just don't want to be under exercisin her.

thank you in advance

That all sounds good to me too, I know of fully grown dogs that don't get that much exercise.

Seems like plenty of exercise there. If you think about it.....16mths x 5mins....that's 1hr 20 mins... per session,and that's only the on-lead walking. Then there's the off lead exercise on top of that. I think if you gave her the maximum allowance you'd have one very tired ( but happy ) dog on your hands.Laughing Laughing
Sounds like she is a very lucky dog.
