fundraising for rescue dogs.
I wondered if this forum do already or would consider fundraising for staffy/any dog breed rescues.
On the last forum I worked on we did various fundraisers -which were enjoyable if hard work but really brought the community together and more importantly raised funds for our much loved breed.
Im sorry if you already do this but just wondered if not your thoughts on this. Thanks.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Have you done a calender before-using members dogs to feature. We did this last year-and raised about £600 once all the costs were taken out. Seems a shame to have such a large database of members who could all contribute a small amount to really make a difference to rescues out there. I do know how hard it is-Ive been there and done it .
What type of things have you tried?.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Problem with that is you need the money to start with to get them printed, then if they don't sell youre out money.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
i was thinking about just making giving website page whatever they call the official and let people give whatever
Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Actually -you dont. It couldnt be done this year now anyway but if you ran some of your competitions throughout the year with the focus upon producing a calender featuring the winners of your competitions-we could have a proof made-and showcase the calender first and take pre-orders over a specific time frame. .
We could then pre-pay for them . you would have to factor in delivery costs and production costs but we sold quite a lot-including on facebook as well.
You could even do a poll to see if your members would be interested in purchasing a calender featuring members dogs and at the same time-donating to a worthy cause.
Its just a thought-members might not be interested but any new ideas are worth mulling over I think.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
if we got everyone on our facebook page and on here to donate £1 that be over 70,000 we could rise for an rescue
Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Just giving could work as well-although similar situation again. Its encouraging members to take part is the hard part I think.
calenders did go down a bomb because its personal to the club and in fact the calenders we produced last year were given as presents, used in businesses and are a good method of publicising this forum.
We had a lot of people asking to do one this next year.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Steve-even 50 p per member would make a huge difference and would publicise your forum. You can get any rescues you help to obviously put links to this club to boost your member figures as well. there is a lot of potential but it depends also on how many active members you have on each of your pages -here and on facebook.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
you know these donating website? fundraising thing when the money go straight to the rescue, can you set one you without doing thing or do you have to do an run or something does anybody know?
Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
there are a few different methods out there. I can take a look over the next couple of days and see what there is available. You need a good selling point to raise funds-it has to really stand out. definitely avoid places such as Indiegogo-total waste of time-being worldwide you struggle to get any interest generated.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
If we supported staffy charities it could help to get new members, links to them on our website and vice versa?
Personally I love the calender idea but it does sound like hard work, I've never done anything like that so wouldn't know where to start!

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
i think if we can get a official page set up to let people donate money too and it goes straight to the rescue, that will be a lot less problem that may pop up... i dont be doing with stress lol
then we can post on he facebook page once or twice an day for an month or how long we let it run for

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
Ive done a calender before. We COULD do one if you want to try for it.
I appreciate if you havent done one Steve it would be over facing but I know who to get to make the calenders. May generate some further interest in the forum and you run monthly competitions anyway. how more appealing to know that your dog could feature on a calender-plus overall winner of top 12 would feature on the cover. we could even have a collage of members dogs on the back-and also we are again promoting the forum. have a think about it. You have a lot of staff members and support staff who are guaranteed to support this. . worth considering . .I will look at other things as well if you want.

Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
where would you get these calender how much will it cost to get them made?
Re: fundraising for rescue dogs.
The bigger the order -the cheaper the calenders would be. I had them made bespoke -there are a few different makers online . Pricing I would need to look into if you are interested.
