Over Excited?
Hi,
We have recently just got a 12 week old puppy to add to our 7 year old. Both are bitches. The 7 year old is crazy but so nice tempered, as is the puppy. However, the puppy keeps biting at the 7 year old and as the 7 year old is so nice she doesn't seem to be chastising the young one. However, when the young one is quiet, the 7 year old will go up to her, lick her and stick her face in the pups, if the puppy doesn't bite her she will push harder and harder, not with any aggression but still winding the puppy up, the pup then starts to nip and all hell breaks loose again - is this normal for them and is there a best practice way to stop them?

Re: Over Excited?
Hi & welcome from darcy & me. what your describing is the normal staffy play I've heard our members describe about their older dogs and puppy's so try not to worry, if you think it's getting a bit rough or they need a time out then you can stop them but I'm sure someone who's experienced this will pop along shortly to help why not come say hi :- https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/f7-new-member-introductions

Re: Over Excited?
Hi,
Thank you, we thought it was but as we haven't experienced it before we wanted to make sure. It just sounds awful some times!

Re: Over Excited?
Yes, absolutely normal!
Your older girl will tell the pup when she's had enough!

Re: Over Excited?
Sounds normal to me though never had two dogs.
Vinnie sound real menacing sometimes, but your older girl will put the pupster in her place.
