Hi everyone we have socialised sasha from day 1 with people and other dogs who she is fine with. The problem is that when she sees us and other people she has little mistakes. She is learning to sit to greet people and not jump up but it is getting so bad now that we have to put her either in the kitchen or the garden as its getting worse as she gets older and it is easier to clean up. Its not just when she first sees them its the whole time they are visiting each time she is stroked. I dont want to shut her away as she is part of the family but she even wee'd on someones lap because I wasn't there to stop her jumping up. Im having to wash the couch cushion covers every day as she takes no notice of the kids. Is this normal behaviour ive never had a puppy do this before

She won't have full control of her bladder yet and when she gets excited can't hold it, I have not had a pup but I'm pretty sure this is not un common. Once of my mums boys seemed to do this for ages (but I can't remember how old he actually was when it stopped) Sure someone else will be able to confirm Smile

She is excellent with toilet training and always goes in the garden even if the door is shut. I even thought it might be because she had a full bladder but its not she is getting better with greeting and ive asked people to ignore her until she calms down but the kids are teenagers who at the best of times arent very understanding especially when she realises someone is there and launches herself straight onto their laps Sad

My labradoodle pup did this until he was about 6 months old, but it gradually got less and less. It's just too exciting for them Smile

He still (very rarely) does it now. He's 5 years old. I moved out about a year ago so when I visit him now it's a BIG EVENT and he gets very excited Smile I take it as a compliment hahaha, he must be very happy to see me!
