Ear Infection, has it come back?
Hey there,
Just wondering if anyone could help me please!?
My staffy had an ear infection about a week ago, so we took him to the vets where this was confirmed and he was put on Antibiotics and ear drops.
After a day of antibiotics the redness and swelling disappeared and he was getting back to normal. We made sure we followed the vets instructions and he finished his course of antibiotics yesterday.
Today, I have noticed his ear is looking red and irritant again... Is this normal? I am quite worried about it as it has come back so quick? any suggestions or advice on it?

Hi & welcome to the forum. Please come and introduce yourself here...

It may well need a further course of antibiotics - I would check with the vets. Sometimes these ear infections can take a bit of getting rid of!

Thanks, he doesn't seem too irritated by it and im wondering if maybe he has an allergy to something...
.. I read online that sometimes it can be an allergy to something in the air and recently we have been using a different air freshener.. But then you can't always be sure with what is on the internet these days.
I will most definately be taking him down the vets, it's annoying that it completely cleared up and then just appeared again though...
Thanks for the advice

Always best to be sure. If it was just a one-off then I'd say possibly an allergy (an may still be), but as he's been on anti-bs, it's worth another check up.

Hiya same problem here, Vinnie has been on his ear drops now 5 days which vet has said should be better by then.
But it seems to have flared up again so like you I am going to keep a close eye on it for a while. Hope all clears up for your fur baby
