Ear infection???
If you saw your dog, mostly in the mornings, and once here and there through the day shaking their head, not bad, just the one or two shakes, would you get it checked out? I noticed Pixee doing this a few days ago, but when I checked her ears, theres no wax, no bad smells, nothing in there, in fact her ears are so clean. But the last two days, I have noticed her ear is lower than the other one, you know how they hold their lovely rose bud ears up, one is sometimes lower. I am thinking perhaps a trip to the vet? She doesnt appear to be in any pain, lets me check her ears.

Re: Ear infection???
Unfortuantely Daisy's ears have been damaged from untreated ear infections (before I got her) so I would definitely go to the vets to get them checked, let us know what they say

Re: Ear infection???
I would also get Rocky along to the vet as soon as anything looks Not the Norm. Most things can turn out to be nothing to worry about but there is always that 1% that are.

Re: Ear infection???
Pixee booked in vets tomorrow for 2.30pm will let you know how we do. Just only hope she lets them check her ears, as she is so afraid of the vets. (Just to let you know, ever since her eyes infection, a nightmare getting the drops in, I have made sure I can mess with her ears and everything else just in case, and she always let me check her ears, ever nip on them bless her)

Re: Ear infection???
Poor Pixee, does sound like she's a little uncomfortable. Could be something simple like a seed stuck in there so dont worry too much! Keep us posted

Re: Ear infection???
The appointment was cancelled and a new one made for tomorrow due to the vet I wanted Pixee to see having to do some operations, which was fine with me. I could have seen another vet, but Pixee is comfortable with this vet person. She has always been so scared going to the vets, I have had to carry her in. Now she will with some coaxing walk in when her name is called by this lovely vet person. So fingers crossed for tomorrow.

Re: Ear infection???
Good idea about going to the vets. Might not be anything to worry about - could be as simple as a loose hair in the ear canal or a piece of grass. But if you feel like something's not right, your best bet is to take her to the vet.

Re: Ear infection???
Good news, there was nothing they could find wrong, as I said no smell, they did put some ear wash down, and wiped it with cotton wool, found some little dirt which is normal. I got some ear wash to use once or twice a week and go from there. If it gets more dirty, spelling etc I go back. Or if the head shaking gets worse, I go back otherwise carry on as normal. Vet did say if they need to look further, she would have to go under, which they dont want to do at this point as they know how stressful Pixee gets, and at this time in moment theres no need for it. So one happy mummy and one unhappy dog, but she has cheered up since we got home. At least I didnt have to carry her in, poor thing.

Thanks both. Yes it has put my mind at rest. And that is what counts that Pixee is not suffering either.
