Operation Appointment
My hubby has just received a letter from Oxford hospital with the date of 23rd December to go in for his knee operation What a silly day to arrange for someone to have an op as if we don't have enough to think about 2 days before Christmas day.
I think this will get postponed yet again.

Re: Operation Appointment
Very inconsiderate, they seem to have a habit now of cancelling operations.

Re: Operation Appointment
Is that the Nuffield? If so they are quite understanding if you change dates. I bet the surgeons are hoping everybody cancels!!!!

Re: Operation Appointment
That is such a silly day to schedule an operation!
Is it a knee replacement Kathy? Please excuse me for asking, but knees are of great interest to me at the moment, as I've been told I will need a replacement for my worn out one some day. I had a steroid injection into it 8 weeks ago but the effects are wearing off already, dammit.
Don't answer if I'm being too nosy!

Re: Operation Appointment
Most likely be a Biomet knee Kathy , 1 of my customers Jo is on the Orthopaedic Ward as no Surgical beds and the first thing you see is there artificial knee and hip joint models on the way in " Biomet " . Last time she was in to get the plaster cut off her leg the saw was one of my customers too , so if it has any markings on it , we put them there

Re: Operation Appointment
Yes Mandy it is the Nuffield hospital, it's one of the very few hospitals I can actually go in. They are very good there. Hubby phoned yesterday to re schedule but the surgeons PA is away (hope she isn't off sick ) Can hopefully get it sorted another day.Mandz wrote:Is that the Nuffield? We first thought they would be replacing the whole knee joint but that's not happening now, I think it's just a lateral release of the ITB again now, Andy had one a few years ago which didn't really help though so hopefully this time it will.
