Assistance with my little madam!
Hey guys/girls
Been awhile since I last posted hope your all well. I've got a few annoying things on with Sky. She is now nearly 11month, apart from being a little gem, her training seems to be going backwards.
Some days at the moment she is really well behaved, others I sometimes wonder..
Two issues are when I am sat on the sofa nearly every time she grabs a toy and keeps jumping on it with me. The only way I get her to stop is grab the toy and put it on the shelf. However she has worked this out and grabs another until she runs out. It wouldn't be too bad but with her knashers, I wouldn't want her to miss and grab something else! (No rudeness intended lol). How do I stop her jumping all over me, and throwing toys all over me when she wants to play. Some times I have to stand up to watch the blooming TV, it is relentless.
Secondly she will not stop jumping up at people when they come in. I've tried getting people to turn there back, and she just grabs at there clothes. Ignoring her doesn't seem to work... The bill for damaged t-shirts with friends is getting ridiculous.
Any tips advice would be good.
I'll try and get a pic uploaded so you can see her adorable face!
Thanks
James.

Hey, james, how are you!
Do you allow her on the sofa at other times? If so, maybe you could start teaching her "Get down" or something similar?
Take the toys away. Sounds nasty, but only give her toys when you want to play with her, or when you want her to have something to occupy her when you're out for any reason.brophski wrote:Two issues are when I am sat on the sofa nearly every time she grabs a toy and keeps jumping on it with me. Try putting her on a lead when people come in, and let them settle before you lead her up to them. She should only be given fuss (or even looked at) when she's sitting calmly.brophski wrote:

This is the little monkey, after she decided she didn't like the bag being on there.

Re: Assistance with my little madam!
Sorry didn't see the reply.
Yeah she is allowed on the sofa whenever, and the bed. She had free reign of the house when I'm home. When I'm out she goes in the crate, as when I'm out she eats things. I'm hoping one day she can be left, but not at the moment.
I never thought of putting the toys away and doing the lead method. How long do I keep her on the lead for until she has calmed down?

Just until you think she's calmed down. Then, any time she gets a bit ott again put it on for a while. Do you have a harness for her? If you do, then it'll be far more comfortable for her, especially if she'll pulling to get to your visitors!
I have to take all of Dempsey's toys away until I (or Eleanor) have time to play with him, otherwise he eats them!
Love the pic of her on the cabinet!

No i've not got one, as I use a halti when walking with her. But I'm going to have a look on ebay now for one. I agree she will end up strangling herself with her normal collar. I think the first thing I'm going to do is control the toys like you said, and stop her going on the sofa until she is probably older and more behaved, until the harness gets here.

Frankie has his own cupboard and if he annoys us by chewing toys on us, the toy gets Put in the cupboard!!! Normally it's one chosen toy a night and the next day he's not interested in it. It's like looking after a teenager sometimes lol
