Attack of the border terrier!
So, had cooper out on an awesome long walk down the nature trail. Teaching recall when we see someone coming etc. all was great. Met some lovely dogs.
Up ahead I see a wee old woman, with a Zimmer frame, didn't see a dog but put the lead on anyway.
So we get up to her and she had a terrier. Looked the size of a large patter dale.
Cooper doesn't stretch to meet it which is odd but ok.
The woman and I start talking and the dogs a sniff. I ask what her dog is. She says border terrier.
Cooper sits really nice the whole time.
The woman asks... What kind is he?
I say a staffy. I get "the look" and "oh".
Next thing her dog has cooper on his back and I had to pull it off.
The terrier was not on a lead.
My hand is all cut but thankfully cooper is fine, scared and jittery but ok.
I start to take cooper away and another large dog comes up. I get a look of sympathy from the owner and next thing the terrier goes for the big dog!
The woman, must have been 80 ish, says he "must be having an off day".
My god, if roles were reversed can you imagine???
I am sick to death of being the only one who cares how my dog behaves.

Sadly Lesley there any some irresponsible dog owners out there, I often think the dogs are probaly more intelligent than the owners

Re: Attack of the border terrier!
Starting to calm down and cooper seems a lot calmer, just got me so so angry, what a stupid hypocritical owner.

Re: Attack of the border terrier!
Unfortunately "the look" is something that is never going to go away. Only way is for people to educate themselves, and thats something that wont happen till people actually own the breed themselves.

Re: Attack of the border terrier!
It happens so often that if we don't turn a blind eye to it we would go insane from all the looks and little sayings we get! Unfortunately people are just so misinformed by the media and other people who truly don't know how beautiful our breed really are!
