Small?
Greetings!
we adopted our Bruce on Sunday from a friend he is a cracking little dog has fit right in with our other 2 dogs and 2 kids. My other 2 dogs are alot bigger breeds but Bruce just seems very small and lean for his age weighed him yesterday and he is 9kg jist wondered what other people's pups were like at 5 months.

Re: Small?
I wouldn't worry to much at this age, they're all different shapes & sizes, if your concerned you could ask your vet to have a look at him, pop a pic on so we can see how beautiful he is

Re: Small?
My pup is 6 months and 14kg - so it does seem a little small - are you sure his age is right?

Re: Small?
All dogs do grow at different rates also theres different types of staffys aswell, some big boys and some not, depends on alot of things, you may find that he can grow very quick in next 6months,could be how much or what your feeding him, theres so many things.
More details would be great and as darcy suggested pics always helps !!

Re: Small?
he was born on 1st of April and the back street breeder wanted rid by 7 weeks my friend only paid £125 for him and that was to save him from a worse fate
when I first saw him I thought he is crossed with something smaller bit my friend was shown his mum who was normal sized and his dad was apparently small......
it makes no difference to me what he his aslong as he is happy and healthy but I am interested in what he may be

Here's how to post some pics...
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t12017-how-to-post-a-photos-onto-the-forum
He may just be a small dog, or he may not have had the right nutrition to grow as big as he should. Either way, a good food & a decent exercise routine will help him reach his potential!
Mind you, at 5 months old he really is still a baby, and they all grow at different rates!

Re: Small?
Yeah can agree with the above. Somtimes they just seem to tread water for a while and then explode in different directions to the point you come home one night and think blimey is that my dog! As you have him on a better diet you may see a rapid increase in growth and size for a bit or nothing for a monyh or two and then bam wheres my pup gone lol

Re: Small?
Its mostly about genes, if his parents were small, he's ore than likely going to be smaller also.. as above said could be bad nutrition ect. Time will tell but don't judge by looking at other dogs I used to always judge my Boss by the size of others but hes a x so a lot bigger than most staffys. now hes 10 months and no bigger than what he was at 6, all grow at different rate weather hes big or small, he will love you til death. FACT.

Re: Small?
If you need help posting the pics from your phone, you can download the photobucket app and upload them through there Great advice given above, cant really add much to that!
