Very confused!?
I'm a little bit confused?! I was following Belle up to bed last night and noticed she had some discharge coming from her lady bits! I got some tissue and wiped it and it looked like it was stained with blood! Like a pale browny colour.
Belle was spayed at 6 months so I know it's not her coming into season but it is what I would expect to see at the beginning of a season if she was, she hasn't had any more since so I'm not sure what to do?
Can any one help with this please?
Thanks Karen, Belle and Daisy xxx

Wow I would be very confused too! It does sound like she is going into season! I would get her right to the vets for a check up!

Sorry I can't be more help but I can't think of anything that would cause bleeding besides her going into season! Can you get her over to the vet today?

Re: Very confused!?
Might be an infection or something sounds like maybe pyometra. But Don't think spayed dogs can get it! Confusing I would get her to the vets and keep sample if possible

Re: Very confused!?
Do you trust the vet that spayed her? The only reason I ask is that vets have been known to 'partially' spay a bitch, and although they can't get pregnant (their wombs have gone) they can come into season.
Either way, I'd take her to the vet, because it shouldn't be happening.

Re: Very confused!?
She hasn't had anything else and my good friend is a veterinary lecturer and she said keep an eye on her if she seems hot and is lethargic take her straight in, she is bombing it round thou and playing/biting Daisy so all seems fine but I will keep a close eye on her and anything else she's going straight over xxxxx

Re: Very confused!?
All seems well with Belle , she hasn't had any more and is totally fine in her self, running around chasing and biting Daisy and generally being a puppy lunatic xxxxxxx

Re: Very confused!?
Glad Belle seems to be okay. I would however pop her over to the vet just to be sure everything is okay. It's not normal to have brown discharge! Even if it isn't happening anymore, something may be wrong! Chances are she is fine but always better to be safe than sorry! Glad the discharge has stopped that is a good sign!

Re: Very confused!?
She said that where the uterus is removed sometimes a tiny amount of blood very small blood clot from where it was sealed off can pass down through and out, and as Belle hasn't had any more and it was a very small bit of it that's what I'm thinking it must have been xxx
