Heat is making poor Dempsey ill

He really suffers in the heat. Not so bad indoors, as he has a coolmat and we wet his ears, paws, chest and belly. But the heats been getting to him and it's given him a bad tummy. Been really quiet today and a little whiney earlier.

Put some ice in his water, which he finds fascinating!   He frowns at it for a few seconds, with his head all wrinkled up, then snorkels. Will probably give him some ice to crunch later.

Thankfully he's settled down in a quiet, cool spot in the house now.

Poor Dempsey, I now have an image of him looking at his water bowl and frowing  

Hope it cools down a bit for them all soon.

Poor thing. Not only is is really hot but it is very stuffy at the moment.

poor dempsey  ,think its been the hottest day here today so far,they have said it could be up to 32 here monday/tuesday ,hope he's
cooled down a bit now.

He's crashed out by the side of my computer - probably the hottest place he could be apart from the kitchen!
 

Poor Dempsey this heat is not good for any of them. We keep feeding Katy icecubes then she lays under the table on the cold tiles

Yes, he knows if he puts treats on the light squares he can see them & gobble them up quicker!

It's actually quite cool down there!   A draft runs through from the door, and all the hot air rises upwards.

I'm beginning to think that Kuchar doesn't have a single brain cell in his head. Not only does he run away like a scaredy-cat when he sees me approaching with a nice cool wet towel to wipe his belly and ears, but after a few, very few, minutes of lying in front of the fan I have nobly sacrificed for him, he is up and wanting to play - and play vigourously. He is currently indulging in the zoomies - how daft is that???

When i let sonic in the garden i count down until i hear a splash as she jumps in the paddling pool....Harley had three friends round earlier, i don't think they appreciated a big lump hurtling through the air at them! Will have to try and get some pics of her in it"

Dempsey says thank you for the hugs, though food will also be accepted!

 Don't worry, Dempsey isn't fond of it either! Put anything wet near his paws or his ears and he's off running for his crate! We have to hold him still while we do it.

Thanks Eleanor, I was beginning to think that I had the only dog in the kingdom who is hysterically averse to getting slightly damp. I can understand it in the middle of winter (I'm not fond of it either) when he turns tail and runs for home. But when it cools his little hot panting body, you'd think he would appreciate it wouldn't you.

Dogs can be crazy sometimes

Dempsey will shove his noze into any pile of yuck he can find, but if one bit of it touches a paw, he leaps back with said paw dangling off the ground, then looks accusingly at the closest person.

They are unfathomable sometimes aren't they. (Don't mind crap all over my nose, but God forbid it touches my feet!)

That's why they need us mums (and dads) to look after them, bless them.

  I'd sooner not have crap on any part of my body!

What would they do without the mums and dads?

Oh dear. Dempsey will go swimming in the lake, but won't let his dainty (?) little (?) feet touch a rain puddle! If he can't go round them he jumps over & if it's to big to clear, he touches down with his back feet for a second half way over so that his front feet don't get wet! 

   Poor Dempsey! Wouldn't want to get those paws wet if it isn't for fun!
