DA training continued !!
well we have now had week two of our training course in which this week mostly involved teaching spike he wasn't the top dog.
In a room full of dogs we had to teach spike the down command and to stay until we said he could move, this was easier said than done but today on our walk we had a break through, he can manage this command perfectly when there are no dog around but today when a dog was walking on the same side of the road as us I got him in the down position and kept telling him to stay whilst the owner and her dog walked past he didn't whine, pull or even attempt to stand back up........................... and the biggest shock was the other owners comment of "what a very handsome and well behaved dog"
Im so proud of my little boy as in two short weeks he has almost had a 180 degree turn in behaviour and he is loving it as his walks are getting much longer due to us not having to avoid dogs as he would pull my arm off and I couldn't cope with the feeling of a separated shoulder lol.

Re: DA training continued !!
Great news and something I can connect with. I would sometimes hate walking and would have to constantly have to have eyes in the back of my head. After nearly 4 months of training with a trainer I have gone from a DA dog to him being able to be off lead with other dogs. I just love walking him now, so much more fun and enjoyable. Keep up the great work, sounds like your both making amazing progress
