Training Empty Training

Post by peppa Sat Jun 13 2015, 16:43

I've been struggling when playing the ball with peppa for over a year now as there's nothing she loves more than playing go get the ball but still I have to demand getting it back something like: drop..leave it..now!! And finally :ok mummy going ...which She always responds to but it takes the fun out.
Anyway today I decided to try something new so just stood  firm after throwing the ball till she came and dropped it if she tried to fight when I pick it I just said no and stated walking. It took exactly 7 min and pups got the idea!!What a smart good girl I have I wish I thought about it before but only today after last week experience with training I came to the conclusion that its too much talk not enough results and it worked like magic.

OMG tell me exactly how you did it. Iza either chases after it and leaves it or holds on tight in her mouth and wants to wrestle for it, tried ignoring then she lies on back so cute with ball in mouth Laughing how can i resist.

Ill try to get a video wish i did but we were alone so try explaining but the idea is if she wants the game to keep going like peppa let her make sure it happens as I realised that if I actively try and get the ball tha game becomes mind of tag of war with ball that is a game yes but not the one we meant to.
Anyway what you do is:
-Throw the ball
-Wait standing firm with legs spread and holding the launcher parallel to
Ground till she comes and drop the ball - no eye contact!
- if she ignores turn 190 degrees to the other way make a few steps and
Stand in the waiting position again .
- if she comes back but don't drop the ball do the same but say no
   Before you walk.

Give it a try and tell me how it goes!! Good luck
