Gentle Leader vs Halti help
Hi all,
Marley has started her latest pulling campaign, had enough of it lol. Im going to be buying either the Halti or GL. My question is which is better? as far as comfort, quality etc. I know she is going to spaz (maybe she wont, she wore the hygein pants like a champ), but we wll get through it.
Just wanna know how the 2 compare. also am a bit worried about head slip...

Re: Gentle Leader vs Halti help
I cannot comment on the Gentle Leader as never used it but Rocky does have a Halti. Have used it a few times and seems to work well for him, it has a link to attach it to his collar for safety.
I dont tend to walk near busy roads so this isnt a hugh issue to me, he is mostly on his collar which is attached to a flexi lead or a long training lead with his harness on. We go for walks mostly in a country park with large open spaces.

Re: Gentle Leader vs Halti help
I haven't used the gentle leader either. I have a halti for Densil, but I use a harness and double ended lead, with one end attached to d ring on back of harness and the other end attached to the halti. I only need to pull on the halti part of the lead if he really starts to pull. It also makes him more relaxed when walking as it is a snug fit on the pressure points behind the ears.

I don't use a headcollar but I must say I prefer the look of the dogmatic ones.

We have a dogmatic for Oz and it does stop him pulling but he doesn't like it very much when t first goes on but he s like a changed of on the head collar compared to a collar or harness

Re: Gentle Leader vs Halti help
We tried both with my English Pointers. We found that because the halti attaches under the chin over the course of a walk it would move back and moosh (technical term) them under the eyes. The gentle leader has more room for size adjustment so it wasn't as bad, but we now only use the Canny Collar for them. Plenty of size adjustment and comes up around the back of the head/neck rather than under the chin. We use a Canny Collar for our adult staffy as well and it's brilliant.
