Hi all,

I recently purchased a "Gentle Leader" halter for my puppy, who has been pulling at his lead so badly that I was concerned he was going to hurt himself. I'm not sure what makes it work so well - but the lead attachment is at the front of his chest so perhaps that makes a difference?

Because he is in between the sizes, the one I bought is a bit big. I connect the lead through the halter, as well as through his collar to give some more security (we had an incident where he came out of the halter and I had to grab him as we were on a busy road - very scary!!!)

All in all, walking has become a much more pleasurable experience.

Smile

They can work very well with some dogs. The clip at the front of the chest means that he uses his own weight against himself! So when he pulls, he just turns himself round towards you!
