Undesired behaviour
Hi,
Does anyone else's dog try to show his/her dominance on a particular friend or family member?
Reason I ask is that Brutus has started to show such behaviour towards one of my wife's friends. It is to the point now where he constantly gets time outs as he won't stop jumping on her, being over excited, onstantly mouthing her and tonight he started to properly hump her leg. He doesn't act like this with any of our other friends and hasn't shown this behaviour before.
Our friend is very good with him and knows all of his commands. she will say no in a stern voice, but it just seems to egg him on and find another way to get to her. If either my wife or I say no, he runs off to his bed before he is called back as he knows he has been naughty.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated as its starting to become a bit of a nightmare having to constantly correct his behaviour.
Cheers

Re: Undesired behaviour
I'd say there's something about her scent!
Does she have a dog or does she use a particular scent?

See that was what I was thinking. No she doesn't have a Dog. I asked what perfume, deodorant, clothes detergent to she uses and it's no different to my wife's. I am going to have her join me on a training walk and her do the commands. Hoping that will work, but any other ideas would be really helpful as if he keeps going it will likely result in him having to be put outside/locked away or her not wanting to come over because no one can relax. Neither of those are good solutions.

That's strange, I can't think of anything else, scent would be the obvious thing!

Re: Undesired behaviour
Harry does this (except for the humping) to one of my friends who has known him since he was 7 weeks of age and nothing I do will stop him.
I always blamed it on her excited way of greeting him when he was a puppy. But he is over 5 years old now!
She has a jack russell terrier and always wears Chanel No. 5 perfume.
Would be interesting to know if there is any connection.

Re: Undesired behaviour
There must either be something about her scent or her general demeanour. Getting her to do a few training commands might help.
