Puppy Advice (to get or not to get) Older dog involved.
Hi im looking to get a staff puppy but i have a few query's and concerns that somebody may be able to help me with. My dog is a 15+ year old staffy (Vets estimate at 17) who had a bad start to his life (guard dog in a drug house.) now hes a lovley dog who still thinks hes a puppy full of life.. he doesnt like it when males invade his space and gets protective (growls etc.) but is fine with female dogs.
Now my concern is if i get a puppy is a dog of my staffys age going to get frustrated easily and not be a good fit or will he be ok and a good role model? The only interaction he has had with a puppy was with one of his own. it was a young male who we had for about 3 weeks while trying to find it a home as the mother turned on it so wasnt able to stay so we looked after the pup. they got on fine and played together and we had no problems but the only thing is that was about 7-8 years ago so he was a much younger dog.
So basically what im looking for is some advice on bringing in a pup into a home with a older dog. as the last thing i want is for anything bad to happen or to have to take the pup back or have to try and rehome

Unfortunately I have no experience with this, however we have many members who have introduced a new puppy to an older dog house. I am sure they will be along shortly with some advice for you
