New Spanish Dog Laws
My wife and I, along with our pets,( 3 cats plus Bacchus ) intend moving to Spain next year but have just found out that SBTs along with all bull breeds are on their list of Dangerous Breeds.
This means that Bacchus will have to undergo a temperament assessment by a vet. I will have to have a psychological assessment ( in Spanish ) identical to the one for anyone applying for a firearms license. Providing we both pass, we are then required to register at the local town hall.
I'm not saying this is enirely a bad thing as it could help to encourage responsible ownership, but how many Spaniards will actually pay the slightest bit of attention to the new laws??

Do you speak Spanish? I think it is over the top to be honest, bordering on the ridiculous

Seems a bit " Guilty until proven innocent " to me but it's their country so if we want to move there we must respect their laws.
I can get by but my Spanish is nowhere near good enough to facilitate a psychological assessment. I'm hoping I'll be allowed an interpreter.
The OH and I are going out to the village for a week in October so will make an appointment with the local vet for his input.
If anyone else on the forum has any first hand experience I'd appreciate some advice.

Re: New Spanish Dog Laws
Will your cats have to undergo the temperament assessment too
Maybe it's just one of those things that's just a formality to tick the appropriate boxes, you know how some people are for ticking these boxes.
