Re: fussy raw, ideas plz
Hi
Chiquito can be quite fussy with new raw foods when I first introduce them. Took him a good few goes at liver for him to eat it .. and he still leaves it until last to eat now Heart and kidney seem to be more palatable and might be worth a try ...
I also find that hand feeding small pieces of something new can be helpful as well.
My suggestion would be to keep trying with what you have and not offer alternatives - also put the bowl away after a certain amount of time even if they have not eaten (if they know the food will stay available or if they will be given something else they tend not to be so interested!). Remember when you do introduce new things, to do it slowly and not all at one though!
Trying a few different varieties of the same meats is also good - Chiquito hates Turkey meat/mince for example, but loves Turkey necks
Also, I will say that some dogs, just like us humans, have meats that they do and don't like and seem to enjoy certain textures over others. Chiquito loves beef and chicken .. won't touch turkey meat though, and will turn his nose up all week at minced chicken.
Hope some of that helps

PS ... If you are looking at chicken options in particular, drumsticks are a hit around here - we are also having chicken heart and goblets this week which seem to be very enjoyable (they don't sit in the bowl too long!).

Re: fussy raw, ideas plz
thanks for youyr reply kell,
i would try the hand feeding thing but im a vegertarian so this raw lark is hardf enough as it is lol
i did intend to do a piece of tripe neck and wing each day but every day ive given 3 bits 1 always gets left so now i just do tripe daily and a wing or neck each day today my girl ate up my boys left wing
i will ask dh to try cutting the liver up and putting it in there bowl and see if they eat it that way
i might have to stick with just necks and tripe for my boy as he hasnt eaten a whole wing and weve had this order for 2 weeks now dose any one have any suggestions of what else i could try him on as well as tripe and neck chunks so i can still swap his food round every othger day ?

Re: fussy raw, ideas plz
Also a vegetarian ... house full of meat now though
Unfortunately I am not much help with what you have available around you as I am in Australia - here is a couple of links that have some ideas/pics that may be helpful though
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t14787-raw-diet
https://staffy-bull-terrier.niceboard.com/t38693-delivery-day-lots-of-photos
www.preymodelraw.com
I think the trick is to try different things until you find what is right for your dogs ... perhaps chicken wings just aren't it for your boy, do try the drumsticks though and see how he goes. Is it possible you could get a small amount (from the supermarket perhaps) to try first?

Re: fussy raw, ideas plz
Liver is something alot of dogs hate, it's the texture they don't like.
Try feeding it frozen, hidden in other foods, flash fry, cook it in goats milk.
Tough love is what i'd do, give him a bowl with just the wings and nothing else until he eats it.

lol oh i am a fan of the tough love,
ive tried frozen and defrosted, point blank wont cook it, im not having meat touching my cooking equipment *shudders*
they did go on stroke a bit with giving them it frozenb, they wer fine for the first few days then changed there minds and now we have to defrost there bitrs (i mean the non liver bits)
they are very stubborn dofgs,
my boy dog refused to go to the loo for about a week oncem, we fenced off the grass so the dogs just had the patio, he was fine while the snow was still there but as soon as it went he went on toilet strike, he got so backed up watching him strain to poo when he finally caved was rather funny
they both try and protest going to the loo when it rains and you have to litterally drag them outside and watch them repeatedly telling them to go to theloo while they wine and cower by the door, i have serious whimps lol

Bailey and Sierra won't eat offal of any kind. I found they will eat the Choice Chunks from DAF though, which is an offal based mince that may be something to look into!
