Raw feeding
We are starting with the tough love routine by taking Herbie's food away after 20mins if he's not eaten or interested in it as he can be a fussy bum!!! In the 20 mins we offer him his food & he eats some & goes away then goes back is this ok? Or do we take it away from him then offer again say an hr later? Xxx

Re: Raw feeding
If it was me I would offer the food. If he has a bit then wonders off then I would take it up and leave it half an hour and try again. The aim is so you put the food down. They eat it unitl its gone. Not eat a bit then have a wonder and a sniff for a couple of mins then eat some etc

Re: Raw feeding
Put the food down and leave it alone for 20 minutes, if he walks off and comes back in the 20 mins it's fine. But after 20 mins take it up and don't offer any food at ALL until his next meal time, and don't be tempted to try feeding him early

Re: Raw feeding
Thanks guys, we are going to leave it down 20 mins & if he walks away in that time & goes back will let him finish if not it will be covered over & offered again an hr or so after if he turns it down it will be covered over again until the morning, I'm guessing we are ok feeding twice a day morning & evening? & covering food over & putting it in the fridge is acceptable & won't cause harm as its raw? Re: Raw feeding
I feed once a day so in the event of anything being left (not that it happens) it will be saved for the next day. So no dogs have a stronger stomach then we do and can eat off food!
