i know iv seen about people saying that bakers complete isnt a good dog food but is that them all? because recently Boss wasnt eating his raw and i wasnt able to get him JWB and bakers complete gives him the runs because of the veg, so i got him bakers meaty chunks (beef flavour) and he loved it, but it was only a temp thing as he was being fussy at nearly 7 months old Sad If the bakers meaty chunks were a good enough food i would just feed him it as its cheap and easy to get.. obv it wont be as good as what hes getting which is raw but is it better than the bakers complete? for some reason he wont eat JWB dry food at all sniffs it and walks away.. anyone help? cheers

It's the additives in Bakers that you have to worry about , there are many dry foods out there to choose from but I would personally avoid Bakers and Wagg for the same reasons.

For me the kids get what is good for them and within reason the budget doesn't come into it

I agree with dave. Cheap and easy to get is not what your dog should get. I have to go 15 miles to get lexi dog food because i won't just feed her crap from the local shop cause its cheap and easy.

They do do the wainwrights wet food which is quite highly rated , but wet food is never as good for them as dry , have you tried mixing it up a bit (dry with a little wet) or adding something to the dry like an egg or something just to keep the interest up. I think most dogs would far rather eat the wet than the dry but it's mostly water and they will not get nowhere near as much from it

I've added eggs, sardines in extra virgin olive oil and cod liver oil to Lola's in the past when she's gone off her food. A combination I found she liked was pour some cod liver oil on the dry food then add some boiling water and give it a mix.

If you're looking to back up the raw food with complete, then feed raw in the morning & dry in the afternoon because of the different digestion times.

Look for a dry food that has its first named ingredient as meat (not meat meal - meat meal is high in protein but is made from all the rubbish), and contains little or no fillers like maize & wheat.

Bakers is about as dire a food as it gets, there are much better dry foods out there if thats what your wanting to feed, but IMO the best diet you could ever give a dog is raw, and for me is the cheapest

Yep i order from DAF

Last order i got was the beginning of June and cost £86 which was this:

Don't forget if Boss hasn't had much variety don't jump in and order everything, you need to introduce new foods slowly

On the subject of complete dried. Cheap isn't always cheap if that make sense. I feed Eden which is 80/20, hypoallergenic and holistic. It appears very expensive to purchase but works out at only about £1 a day to feed my dog who weighs 20 kilos.
