Post by Guest Sat Jun 22 2013, 16:46

Got the kids their first coconut today. Wow, what fun!! They had a massive game of tug ripping the fibre bits off and when they looked like they were loosing interest the OH threw it over to the concrete where it smashed in two and they promptly grabbed a piece each and all serenity reigned! It was like the most magical prize they'd ever come across Laughing

The only thing I didn't like was that Vinny pooped afterwards and ate his poop - he has never been a poop eater 😢I hope it was a once off and purely because he pooped sweet smelling coconut Straight Face

no, doesn't look like it in the pics, but they tend to swop and share everything, thankfully! So they got equal portions in the end. Went,um, nuts for it!!

Their breath smelt sooo good afterwards (prior to said poop eating incident). The husky bits, I read, do well to floss their teeth too. I would recommend supervising though in case anything become stuck in the gums or throat. But it was a fabulous toy and treat! There's another waiting for them in the fridge.

Coconut itself is wonderful for the coats; their joints and a host of other things Smile

just be carefull if you give em them inside, first time I brought them they were fluing all over the place and the TV took a couple of near misses. If you drill out the holes it keeps em occupied chewing trying to get in as they can smell the flesh inside.
one last tip...clean up after them as the shell is very sharp and not so nice when you stand on it in the middle of the night Surprised
