Ezy Harness baldness
I've noticed that Doug's ezy harness with the chestplate is making his chest and under his arms rather bald
Is this a normal part of having a harness with a chestplate? If not how can I stop it rubbing his hair away or should I just get a different harness - the plate?

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
Rocky has the same harness and suffered with the same problem, we now only use the harness when he is in the car for the sealt belt clip.
We got him the EzyDog collar and now walk him with just that on and his lead.

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
I've had a few minor problems with harness's or headcollars rubbing and causing hair loss we now alternate between an Ancol padded harness or a pets at home anti -pull harness with the fleece runners that protect his skin under his arms, if we are walking any distance on lead. If it's a quick wizz to the park, then we just use his collar, I'm sure others will have better ideas.

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
When we first got him we used a leather collar but he really pulled and was getting himself in such a state so we changed to the harness and now he walks lovely!I'm abit reluctant to go back to a collar but I may give it ago tonight. If he pulls I might take a trip to PAH to try the ani-pull harness as suggested. Thanks

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
Daisy gets a little bit of hair loss from the harness but nothing I've been worried about.

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
The girls use their ezydog harnesses in the car as they get baldy. Non pull does not create so much baldness

We don't get problems from ours , for sure Tommy's is covered in hair from molting though , Tilly was a lot thinner on the hair before she ever got a harness and cetainly isn't any worse for wearing it

How about this one?
I don't have it myself because I use a collar but I know heaps of people who are really happy with it, it's fleece lined so can't imagine that it will rub!
It's available in different colours!

Staffy's are usually a size 4 or 5, check the girth measurement!

Darcy has the ezydog harness, but she's never really had much hair loss although she is very thin there anyways, we use her harness for the car and when she's on a long training line

Bacon wears the Ezydog harness. He was losing hair so I loosened both straps a bit and it has eliminated the redness and balding issue.

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
Good point Norcal , we don't have the harnesses tight fitting as I don't want the straps to cut into them

Re: Ezy Harness baldness
Ah that maybe where I am going wrong! I have the harness nice and tight as I thought it moving around loosely was causing the rubbing
I tried Doug back on his collar the last few days, my arms have stretched aleast 4 inches so he's back on the harness today!!! I'll loosen it tonight and see if that makes a difference.

I would say ours are more "comfortable" than loose
