Re: Car sickness
I'll be watching this with interest - Kuchar has been car-sick ever since he had to travel back from puppy training classes aged 3 months; he was OK going but always threw up on the way back, due to the large amount of treats we had to stuff him with. He has hated going in the car ever since (we have to lift him into it) and is now nearly 18 months old, it's a fear thing for him.
Conversely, Alex, my previous puppies were also car-sick when they were tiny, and provided that they weren't stuffed full of treats and over-excited at the outset (which they weren't), they soon grew out of it, as most dogs do.

Re: Car sickness
Otis comes everywhere in the car with us. When we first brought him home though it was a 2 hour drive and he was quite travel sick.
We just built up the time he was in the car for, we don't feed him if we are going out in the car unless it's a quick 5 minute journey. If it's a long journey we make frequent stops to give him a break as well.
He has grown out of it now so just build up his confidence and get him used to the sensation. Ginger biscuits as mentioned are meant to be great.

Re: Car sickness
I would also recommend the ginger it's great for settling tummies.
You might also want to try the DAP spray in the car, just spray about 10 minutes before you get in the car, it may help to settle Max down too.

Re: Car sickness
You can buy proper ginger dog biscuits designed to help travel sickness. I feed him a handful and they really do help! You can buy them from PAH (cant find the link, sorry)
If its a long journey I tend not to feed before hand.
Tip: Use incontinence pads to line your back seat or boot (wherever your pooch sits). They soak up the sick and you can just throw them away rather than ruining towels/blankets etc.

Re: Car sickness
How do you travel him? If you travel him in say the boot then it could be stress. If you travel him in the car loose it might be motion, so i would try to crate and cover the blanket so they Can't see.
