i was wondering if any 1 could help me here a little Smile

i have always loved leather collars and leads BUT lately i have been thinking about other types like the webbing 1s
i hear about nylon collars and Polypropylene collars and leads all i know about them there strong Depending on the quality so here are there things i want to know if you don't mind Smile

1. Which type is better Polypropylene Or Nylon?
2. Are they washable? (e.g dog rolls in mud and i put collar in the washer)
3. is wider better then thinner say 2inch vs 1inch
and finally question 4 out of Polypropylene and Nylon which one would you people pick

thank you for the help Big Grin

Personally I prefer leather but, like you, I thought I'd try a nylon rope. I bought a very strong one, allegedly for 'very large, strong dogs', and Lola snapped the handle on the first outing Crying or Very sad So, we're back to leather collar and leads, although I have bought them 2 Wagytails harnesses which are fully washable at 30 degrees.

Can 100% recommend the Ezydog Neo collars , great quality , very strong and wash very well , I've been using them on both of ours for over 2 years and no probs , only replaced through outgrowing also have the Ezydog Harnesses as well

They have a great range of colours as well. Loads of our members are Ezydog converts , we should have shares in the company. PAH sell the collars so check out the quality there, even check size Smile Then buy it cheaper online >Smile You won't be dissapointed

Chiquito has exactly the same ezydog collar and harness as Darcy is wearing in the avatar pic above ... I love them too - soft on their skin, easy to wash and they wear well Smile

I would always go for a thicker collar for walking they are much more comfortable. If you intend to leave a collar on when not walking use a thin nylon one, again for comfort. I too use the ezydog range for walking

Rocky also has the EzyDog collar and harness which I too would recommend. The collars are a bit wider which reduces the strain on the dogs neck, you can also get an extra wide one. Check the sizes though as they don't have much of an overlap.

Daisy just has soft collars, she is walked in a harness so I don't really worry about how strong they are, very comfy though!

Another Ezydog fan here the collar for every day use and the harness for car travel and when we go running. Both wash really well and don't look at all worn

thanks for the recommendations
I was asking because shadow loves rolling in mud ( even though he hates the rain ) so i was looking for a collar that i can wash as his leather 1 is looking more pink then red now Laughing

i was looking at the ezydog extra wide in artic blue

But i have asked the pet shops by me and some say get the next size down from what shadow is and some say get the next size up from what his neck size is so im confused shadow is a 19 to 20inch neck so i dont know if i if i should get 1 size down from that or that size he is now even tho he still growing

It would be best if you could find a place to try one on - according to the size charts Chiquito was a small in the normal width, but when I actually tried one on him a medium was the right fit (the small was definitely too small!)

El Perro collars are brilliant and really strong. I finally ordered one about two weeks ago and it has arrived. I also asked them to stitch Rupert's name and my number on - I will try and send a picture. I was recommended them by another bigg-ish dog owner and I think they are great, esp as you can get them in all colours and all widths and they are very strong. I went for a red one for Rupert in the end and lots of complements... I ordered it online but they also called me to talk me through the collar to make sure that it would fit properly etc.

Sierra has a 1.5" collar, 1" lead and a 1" harness! Bailey has 2x 1.5" collars, a 2" collar, 1" harness and 3x 1" leads! Can tell I like StrongStuff products Laughing Also the leads have been tested by towing a land rover! So they're definitely strong. Excellent gear at brilliant prices and Aaron is a really nice guy to deal with aswell!
