normal weight

whats the normal weight for a 4 month old

All dogs grow at different rates and the stages of growth also vary from dog to dog, even 2 of the same breed.
Ideal for an adult dog is to not see the ribs but to be able feel them if your run your hand over the area. Not sure if the same guideline applies to a puppy.

my puppy pumba is about 18weeks and 12kilo's. two weeks ago he was about 11. but like BSB said, they grow at different rates. pumba used to put on 2.2pounds a week till he was about 15weeks. in the past 3weeks he's only gained about 2pounds so it doesn't just vary between dogs but within the dog itself!

I know that isn't very helpful, but it's true. They all grow at different rates, and although they may well end up within the 'average' weights for an adult staff, how they get there can differ vastly from pup to pup. As long as the pup is healthy, bright eyed & lively with just a little 'covering' of fat to help his growth then it'll be fine.
