Is my Poppy a normal weight?
Right, my staffy is 10 months old and she weights 18kg. She looks taller and bigger than any other female staffys. Is it normal? Or could she be a cross of pitbull and a staffordshire terrier? She was a rescue dog so I dont know anything about her parents..
Thank you for all the replys.

Re: Is my Poppy a normal weight?
I'd say she was a large staff, but I doubt she's a pit cross, she doesn't look very pit bull-ish to me, and if she was a pit x the rescue people wpuldn't have been able to rehome her. Did the rescue people say what she might be?
Whatever she is, she's gorgeous!

Thats kinda what I thought but quite alot of people say she might be a cross and because she's my first staffy, I haven't got a lot of knowledge about this breed. I'm learning new things everyday. And well they didn't tell me much as she was only at the rescue for a week, all they told me is that her previous owners were horrible to her. She can be really nervous and gets scared when other dogs are barking or there is a very loud noise, she usually runs away upstairs. Bless her!

She has a very staffy like face, perhaps shes just a longer legged type stafford. She doesn't really look like a cross, you dont say how tall she is (have you got a full-length photo of her?). Then again 18kg isnt really that big for a staffy. My girls are fully KC registered and I know a lot about their parentage, my youngest dog stands at 15.5" tall and weighs 17.5 kg, shes a muscular girl but all staff!
