Dogs!
A new person I work with added me on facebook yesterday and as you do they had a nosey!
Well the first thing she said this morning was 'you're a very doggy person aren't you, I mean you love them alot'
So it got me thinking whilst out throwing Molly's ball this evening... why don't people like dogs?! A part of me thinks they must have a character flaw if they don't like them!
Normal for me is dogs... I don't know any other way to be!
Molly, Watson, my partner and I will all have a lovely chilled evening now after a long walk and fetch Perfect!

Re: Dogs!
I've never really understood why anyone can dislike dogs. I understand them being scared (if you're not used to them, those teeth can be pretty intimidating!), but I've always been dog mad. I used to scare the life out of my mum because I'd find my way into the street to try & stop dogs fighting (or mating - I thought they were fighting) when I was only about 3 or 4 years old!

Re: Dogs!
I've grown up with dogs so it's just normal to be 'a very doggy person'! and like you it's hard to imagine how some people don't like them So happy to have finally been able to get one of my own and I talk about her all the time, in fact I would even more if I didn't have this forum to let it all out!!

Re: Dogs!
They're too clingy, too needy, chew everything, bark a lot, hump everything, etc. I'm sure those are the reasons I've heard, so probably that I can't understand it myself, but I hate cats, so I can't blame some people not liking dogs...even if I do try to change their opinion

Re: Dogs!
I can understand why some might not like them, for the whole biting/big teeth aspect, but apart from that, I do not understand 1) why people dont like them and 2) how people can be so cruel to them. They're anything another human being could possibly want. My mum and sister hated the idea of me bringing a pup home, they were totally against it, but after a week or two, they were sold! Now they love Zeus more than anything (possibly even me!)

Re: Dogs!
my world is my dogs... i have two fb acounts one for marley and one for me and marley has about 110% more freinds than me lol.
i think its to do with what the dogs give back to you, if you have never had one you will never understand that loyalty, trust and love a dog can give.
Dogs and horses, mans best freinds and willing workers, could you imagine how mankind would be without either of them?
As i sit here typing this i have two dogs snuggled into me, trusting me, loving me, that make life worth while in a primevil kinda way.
its a shame some people will never feel this feeling...

Re: Dogs!
Nathan, very well put, it's all about the relationship you can build with them so different to any other animal, even horses tbh you don't get the same bond.
