It's really common, don't worry that you have an unusual dog on your hands. It's almost certainly due to worry rather than her being mean and it is possible to help her. If you look in the Training and Behaviour section you'll find loads of questions (and answers!) on it.

See if there is anything in there that helps you already but if you've got any specific questions, just ask.

It can be really hard to tell what's play and what's not sometimes with Staffies. You can in time learn to read their body language. I also agree that 9 times out of 10 it's not bully aggression, it's fear.

I've learnt this with my girl and if ever she is unsure of a dog or situation she will look to us to give her her favourite Stix which takes her mind off the scary thoughts and gives her reassurance.

We originally used her Stix as a distraction tool but it's worked so much better for my Flo than I could have hoped.

Did you mean me or Lauren, Natt? If you mean Chaos... he's doing well. I don't know he's ever going to be a fan of dogs rushing up at him when he's on the lead but I can understand that and won't worry about it too much. We've got so many lovely walks round here where you hardly ever see anyone so it's not the end of the world.

He's generally pretty chilled about just seeing other dogs out and about, much more relaxed than he was. He can even walk up the lane past houses with barky dogs that he used to really stress about, without more than a passing glance, and although our immediate neigbour dogs do their best to wind him up he can also now potter round in the garden and ignore them. So pretty good, really!

Ah I got mixed up with something else you'd written on another post. Still trying to figure my way around the forum ;-)
It's great to read your posts and read how Chaos gets on as I can relate to alot of what you say :-)

Lauren have you made progress with your little one?
