Chewing sticks
I was walking Shéara today and as usual he finds a stick to carry around with him. A guy walked past with a gorgeous boxer, asked which way i was going, then walked the other way. He called me back and offered to give me some advice...
"dont let your dong carry or chew sticks, it will get stuck in their throat" I told him he's only carrying it 'cos I forgot to bring a ball with me and he's always supervised, he shook his head at me and walked on.
There are loads of piks on here of their dogs and sticks, I dont see what this guys problem was! Maybe it was friendy advice for the dogs wellbeing, but there was no need to shake his head like i was doing wrong. Eejit.
Rant over.

Re: Chewing sticks
Pretty stupid thing to say tbh, people have been giving/throwing sticks for dogs for decades.
Yes, probably best not to eat them, but carrying and crunching them is no problem in my eyes.

Re: Chewing sticks
Friendly advice apart from the look, that was very rude of him. I don't let Loki have sticks because he doesn't carry anything, he'll just lie down and eat it

Blue loves his sticks also. Yes there is a danger with bits etc but should we not feed them incase they choke on that
Just out of interest was the boxers tail docked. Meant to have stopped but every boxer I see still have docked tails

Re: Chewing sticks
Blue had one Kathy. Last one lasted 1.3 walks. TBH I'm happy as it didn't look good walking down the street with it anyway. Have enough to deal with off the local kids cos of the ra ra skirt and leg warmers I like to wear

Re: Chewing sticks
I *TRY* to keep sticks away from Chiquito because he likes to chew and swallow .. But removing all of the trees really isn't an option
Unless you were beating your dog with the stick I can't see why it should bother anyone else to much if they see a dog with a stick ....
