Foxes Empty Foxes

Post by pag Sun May 05 2013, 12:57

I'm not into fox hunting for the sake of it but I'm really p*ssed off at the moment, My OH has just called to say we have lost 20 of our chickens to foxes overnight.. I've a mind to set our Molly among them.. sooo angry and upset. They were just coming up to point of lay and some table birds too.. We might have saved more if the big red rooster had been in with them, but they are still on the small side and on different food to him to.. we have 7 left including the rooster......GGGGGRRRRR I dont want to s at wits end at wits end at wits end I'm thinking I should get myself a nice fox fur coat for the winter.. >Smile >Smile >Smile

We have two allotment Matt one for growing the other for Hen's.. We have got 2 sheds with lots of room and lots of room to scratch around in.. They didn't get into the shed as it's got a tunnel for the chickens to go through and the fox won't go in if he can't see what he's going into.. They were taken while they were just going out early this morning..

So sorry to hear this pag, the fox population is really getting out of control now. My next door neighbour had 5 lovely pheasants and a fox killed every single one, and several people in the neighbourhood have lost cats to foxes.

I let my chickens out myself, usually later on in the day. I've never lost any to foxes. They are secured at night and in and locked away until morning. RIP wee chickens, bad fox had a good sunday dinner at your expense!!

Well Molly has a good stash of meat from some of the left behind birds.. We will just have to make do with the ones we have left over .. They were just coming up to pol so with any luck we may be able to hatch a few more..

How frustrating to get that far and have that happen.
Now that the fox knows they are there your gonna have to be super carfull, they are sneaky critters.
