Me & my partner get married soon,

The issue is, I won't be at home on the Friday evening, but the partner will be. On the Saturday morning he will be leaving the house at say 10am? I will be at my mums who lives 10 doors away & my mum is going to keep popping down until she has to leave for the church at 2:30 and even bring her up to see me before I leave!!!

But then, I have nobody to come see her.
Everyone I trust in my house and with my girl will be with me at the wedding... So I am literally going over and over it in my head.. Will she be ok?

My mum has said when she gets back from the wedding she will either come stay at mine so Roxy isn't on her own unless we come home that is, or she will take Roxy up to her house to stay for the night.

So roughly she's going to be left from 2:30 till say midnight?
I know this is bloody awful and if I could have her will me for the day I would but my venue just isn't dog friendly
Sad

Some advice please? Xx

Bit tricky. Could you not ask even just a neighbour to pop in to feed her, let her out for the toilet, do a Kong for her, etc.?

If she's took for a good walk and let out for a wee, and left with a couple of frozen kongs, for one day it's not the end of the world if noone can get back to her

Or what about even for that one day getting a dog walker (there are some good ones) to pop in and let her out to the toilet etc. Maybe even go for a short walk if you were happpy enough.

If you have good neighbours that would be the handiest. Mine are all absolute morons though.

What about looking round for a posh doggy hotel for the night / 2 nights. She gets pampered and you get to enjoy your wedding without worrying about her

You sure both you and Mat don't live in my street as the neighbours on one side of me are morons too

I'd normally say that 10 hours is way too long. But sometimes things can't be helped.

If you can't get someone to pop in, then make sure you leave her some safe toys to play with & plenty of water (two bowls in case it gets hot - yeah, right!) & then make sure she gets a walk when you do get home.

Congratulations, by the way! Good luck for your future & I hope everything goes well on the day.

It is only one day. It is not as if it will be a regular thing, so i wouldn't panic! I used to get sick of the one dayers in the kennels, once a person booked the dog in for they were going to a wedding and left it in at 11am and picked it up again at 5pm! Was just a waste of money lol

Sounds like you've found a good possibility! Will you meet with them before hand?

If I was worried about the dogs and it was my only option I would go for it , wasting money is not important . On a special day like this you need to have your miund settled as much as possible so whatever it takes Smile

Yes would definately meet first. Rody is very very excited when she sees people and sometimes can get a bit too excited so I would want to make sure they know what she's like!

A very good friend of ours have said they will leave the wedding twice to come check on her if we wanted them too.. So that's an option as they know roxy and have done since the day we brought her home! Smile

And I totally agree Dave, I don't really see it as a waste of money! She's 7 months old and my baby! Who is never left for more than a few hours!! Xx

Agree with this. We have had to leave Suki for 12 hours on a few occasions and she has been fine. Given the fact you have time a good dog walker would be great
