Angel Slug Alert

I was out with Rocky earlier this morning walking along our local river and saw hundreds of slugs everywhere crawling through the grass.

Please be very careful out there guys and girls when walking your dogs if they should happen to pick up anything in their mouths where you think slugs may have been. These little creatures can carry some very nasty bugs in them, the info in the link below explains it all:

Yes I've seen posters in the vets. Afaik there isn't any preventative treatment for lungworm is there, you just need to try to avoid infection and be aware of symptoms?

Read in the paper a while back that garden experts were expecting a huge boom in them cause of the weather conditions!

You can reduce the risk of getting lungworm by using Milbemax wormer. Advocate prevents lungworm, but you have to use that monthly & I won't do that.

Good call. Its easy to forget what a menace they can be especially as its guarenteed to * a dogs intrest when they see them
