Loki's done this a few times I think. Sometimes it's a happy face, sometimes he starts wimpering because he wants to play and no-one's playing Laughing

Dog Lips! Empty Upper Canines - Lower Lips

Post by KJMcBain Thu Apr 08 2021, 13:06

Hi. Just joined as hoping to hear from others who have experienced same problem. Our five year old Blue girl has irritation and bleeding of her lower lips caused by upper canines. Happens mainly when she is chewing on a hard toy or a stick when out. Vet says canines are on wrong side of lips / may need surgery to correct. Whilst not ideal that we keep finding spots of blood on blankets, it’s not all the time, doesn’t appear infected or to be bothering her. Not keen on going down surgery route. Grateful for anyone’s thoughts on this. Keith

Hi from me & Katy Smile Welcome to our forum to you & your blue girl, what is her name?
What does the vet mean re her teeth being on the wrong side of her lip? doh If the bleeding only happens when she's chewing a hard toy or stick I would think she's cutting her lip on them! Can you get a pic of her teeth for us to see?
