Flea and worm treatments
As some of you may know daisy has had demodex and has a poor immune system. I'm not sure whether to carry on with the standard medical worm and flea treatments or try the natural alternatives that you can get. I have read that putting too many chemicals into our dogs can damage their immune system so with daisy's delicate state I don't want to do any further damage. Also she has been pumped full of medications for her various ailments over the last few months. However I obviously font want to risk her getting worms or fleas and make her poorly again.
I know this is a decision I have to make for myself but was wondering what kind of experiences you have had with either the natural or medical versions?
Any comments/advise will be greatly appreciated, thanks for reading x

Re: Flea and worm treatments
This is a topic where it's a very personal choice.
I for example refuse to use chemical treatments.
I give garlic and apple cider vinegar for fleas and helps the immune system
I worm by using diatomaceous earth (food grade)
I give a lot of wild game (whole animals) to my boys and have had no problems worming this way

Re: Flea and worm treatments
Assuming her skin is ok then I would just worm every 3 months.

Thanks guys, I'll google diatomaceous earth, not heard of that. I already give apple cider vinegar to help against the mites. Confused about garlic though...I thought that was something you couldnt give to dogs?

garlic unlike onions needs to fed in MASSIVE amounts and i mean lots of whole bulbs over a long time to reach toxic levels.
Have a google garlic is a great food to give dogs, i give 1 crushed clove every other day and have never (touch wood) had fleas in 2 years
