I know all of us will have read the Safeguarding your Stafford article at some point. Just a reminder to check fences and gates. I have read so much recently about dogs being taken from gardens like Isaac the Sheffield stafford or being taken from outside shops. This is the best time of year to check fences before the new spring growth. The story of Isaac has shocked me to the core I cant stop thinking about the poor fella Sad

It was so awful, reading about it made me cry and everything I think about it my stomach knots, I'm never going to let daisy out of my sight for a second.

The problem with a lot of fences is the "posher" fences have concrete posts, there's really no easy way to secure the panels meaning they can just be slid up to let the dog through, wooden posts are a little safer as you can screw and nail to your hearts content to secure the panels, the one piece of security advice I stand by is not letting people know what you have, I know it's a little hard with dogs but you can still take precautions ie if I see a crowd of people in the distance while walking Stig I'll take another route, really is a case of keeping your eyes peeled and trusting your gut, luckily our dogs bark if somebody approaches the back gate and in the summer we can leave the patio doors open to hear and see whats going on, my biggest fear is having him taken while walking him as I would fight to the death for him and wouldn't stop until I was physically unable to move

Thanks for the heads up Claire, this certainly is something we all need to keep an eye on and be aware of whats going on around us.

My girls don't like being in the garden alone, they do their business and come back in. In the summer they stay out if someone is with them Big Grin

I never let Logan outside without watching him. I never open my gate either lol.

But you are totally right, can't be too careful.
