Aww, poor Hollie. She'll be feeling a bit sorry for herself for a day - then the fun will start trying to keep her quiet!

Bless her, she'll be fine Xx
You could have the cone off, whilst she is still groggy and your there she can't/won't touch them, and then see how she goes, Moo never needed hers

Re: Hollies Spay
Yea it is very common, it takes them a day or so to get back into the swing of things. I had my last dog spayed and for a day or so after I thought she was broken lol, but after a bit of a break so was back to her normal self.
When Logan has been sick I've found the best way to keep him drinking is provide small amounts of cold fresh water at regular times.

Re: Hollies Spay
Murphy wouldnt settle at all with his cone on, and because ive only got a small house he kept getting stuck in between sofas etc (hard not to laugh at the time...)
So instead I removed the collar.
He settled but immediately went awol when cone went back on so I booked 3 days off work and stayed up for the whole time to make sure he didnt nibble at it.

Ahhh poor Holly, I'm sure she will be fine, try to get her to lick an ice cube if she will, that way she will have a little bit of a drink at least.

Tilly never had one either , in all honesty she just can't reach down there and normally lets Tommy do it for her

Re: Hollies Spay
Well just a update on Hollie, she had to go back to the vets yesterday for them to check the stitches, but also we mentioned she is off her food not drinking much and keeps going for a wee and spending ages outside (this started sunday late afternoon) vet said she could have cystitis from being spayed (yeah thanks for telling us that!!!) He gave her a pain relief injection and a antibiotic injection and wants to see her later today , well she perked up yesterday ate more and drunk more nut she has a slight browish discharge (sorry) but the vet did not seem bothered by this????

Re: Hollies Spay
Right we are back from the vets as a precaution has given her antibiotic tablets and pain relief , the brown discharge he thinks as she was just coming into season the day she went for her spay (i was told by previous owners she would not be in season for another 2-3 months ). but is nearly back to her old soppy self

Re: Hollies Spay
Thats good news, I would have thought the vet would have noticed her coming into season, Moo's was cancelled because she did the day of her op.
I hope she has a speedy recovery now ><
