just an update on socialization.

So it turns out Bruno just loveeees dogs and humans, basically anything that has legs LOL he's very play full and does not even nip dogs, he's met so many in the park but puppys prefer him, I think some older dogs know he's young and think noooooo thanks, there was an 11 month old male lab today and him and Bruno were near enough making out LOL Bruno even had his head in this big dogs mouth at one point, it was the sweetest sight.

I just hope it lasts and he always loves dogs, do you think it's a good sign how friendly he is with other dogs even though he's only a pup?

Just keep at it and he will be! Lexi was okay with dogs until about 11months but she didnt get nearly enough socialization (living in the country with no car i walked her over fields not in parks!)

Well he can only go to the big park about 3 times a week as we have to get a taxi there and back as it's to far for him to walk so were doing as much specializing as possible.

I think Bruno is more than okay with dogs, he's brilliant with them and I want that to be a continual thing.

It's very important to me and lil Bruno that he likes other animals, intact it's vital..

All breeds need socialization but especially bully breeds because of the discrimination they come across.

I hope he continues to love dogs even though that could change due to D/A.

Tbh I have only seen a couple of SBT of lead at the park and the rest are on lead.

It's a good start, just keep up with it. Loki and his best friend Buster do that too, they lick each other's mouths, it's kind of gross but also sweet all the other dogs hate Loki because he's too playful, the fool glad Bruno's having so much fun with his socialising.

Sounds good. At the age he is now he will be learning the quickest so keep it up

I wish I could of started earlier but I will carry on doing the best I can, he's on a training lead and that is frustrating him as he can't get to other dogs I prefer the dogs to come to us as that way I know the dog and owner are happy with that.

Bruno sounds a smashing little fella, but often Staffies, even though socialised well, will not conform to the happy friendly love all little dogs that we hope them to be outside the home, and from adolescence onwards they may start to scrap with other dogs, and that has nothing to do with socialising or not. Its just how they are and we have to take care and take the necessary precautions, please remember that this behaviour probably has nothing to do with fear aggression, They were originally bred for fighting so it comes down in the genes occasionally.

Yes, that is a worry for me and I will be prepared and take action, were they bred to get rid of rats or is that cats LOL

My old staf was not keen on other dogs and used to see them off when they bugged her but was never aggressive with any, I hope Bruno will be like that as you could leave my late girl with a dog and they would of been fine.
