Warning signs
So Tank has been buddy's with a GSD Rotwieler cross since 8wks...they are same age, born on same day.
But ... Tank is only 18kg, whereas 'george' is 42kg.
The last cpl of times 'george' has randomly growled at Tank - which has spooked him out comepletely!
Tank has ALWAYS backed off, and walked away, but at the bk if my mind I can see it wint take much for 'G' to 'snap'
Such a Shame cause they used to run bat**** crazy as lil pups together.

Re: Warning signs
I wouldn't worry to much about something that may not happen, Rocky has a good friend who is a Doberman and they get along just fine, although I think the Doberman is younger than Rocky he does take notice of it.

Re: Warning signs
Noise is okay as long as your boy heeds it. As pups they may well have got along but rotties is prob going through a growing stage where he wants to cool play down abit and just giving a verbal grumpy announcement that hes not up to playing like usuall. In a few weeks the situation could well be reversed

Re: Warning signs
I think it depends. Loki's friends with a 13 year old deaf, one-eyed Shar Pei cross. He's not the most tolerant dog in the world and Loki is extremely boisterous he always barks at Loki when he's too hyperactive. Loki wouldn't pay any attention, so I'd separate them, but he learnt to move away for a moment on his own too. As long as Tank knows when to back off, I think that's all that matters, since things with dogs can escalate pretty quickly, but they can also calm down pretty quickly too.

awwww bless, i would agree noise is very good, i would just keep it supervised play and be ready to intervene if needed.
tyke has known missy my sisters stff since she was a puppy there about 12 month between them but there are times were one of them will have enough and will give a warning noise
