Unbelieveable Walk
I really could not believe what my hubby and I saw happening again this morning while out walking Rocky.
We were on our walk down a single track lane which is only just off a very busy main road. I saw two dogs off lead running in front of a big Range Rover car.
When the car got level with us I got my phone and tried to video what I was watching, sadly I had my gloves on and wasn't able to video it. The car then kept driving behind the dogs down to the end of the lane which is about a quarter of a mile long. The car then just turned around and headed back still behind the two loose dogs.
When the car got level with us again the drivers window was lowered and a woman just shouted out "They are with me, I have a broken foot" she then gave a silly shrug of her shoulders and carried on again, I was just so gobsmacked I didn't know what to say to her.
Not a very responsible owner I thought, if she has a broken foot how can she still drive her car ?
What happens when one of the dogs goes for a poo ?
What happens if another car should come along and one of her dogs gets under it ?
What do I do if I see this again ??, we did see her a few days ago but couldn't believe it then either.

Re: Unbelieveable Walk
Some people are so irresponsible. If she can afford to waste petrol money driving around for their 'walk' (let alone, as you said, driving with a supposedly broken foot), she can fork out the money for a dog walker. Utterly disgraceful and no excuse for it.
I think it's just sheer laziness.

Wow. Even the most well-behaved dog can have its unexpected moments, and on a busy road, that can be very dangerous. Tell the idiot to hire a dog walker and stop putting her dogs at risk. Not that she'd listen

Re: Unbelieveable Walk
This is actually a very common way of exercising grey hounds and hunt dogs. happens all the time here up in the mountains. They load the van up with dogs, then let them out and they follow the car up and down the road. Theres always someone standing at the end of the road with a sign saying dogs loose though. Its kind like moving sheep...but with dogs..

I think by "broken foot" she meant "I'm lazy and I can't be bothered".

Re: Unbelieveable Walk
Well if that don't beat all
The woman may have broken her left foot and the car may have been an automatic, which could explain how someone with a broken left foot and an automatic car could still drive.
But as Rebecca says, an accident could so easily happen, especially as the lane was off a main road and she had no control over the dogs. It doesn't bear thinking about.

broken foot my a**e report the lazy moo, if your insurance is void if caught driving with a fractured wrist then the broken foot has to be illegal,What about crutches? or hire a wheel chair from the red cross
the silly shrug says i have a range rover and her other car is probably an audi so i can afford to own the roads. What would she do if a dog came down the road and attacked hers or hers attack an innocentKathy wrote: she then gave a silly shrug of her shoulders and carried on again

Re: Unbelieveable Walk
Some people are beyond silly ... There is a well known lady near me who sends her 4 year old to the shop every day across a busy road , he carries a walkie talkie . She said it saves her getting dressed
I know some people have reasons for doing things and it's easy to judge , but society is becoming more lazy

Re: Unbelieveable Walk
I presume the shop keeper thinks mum is outside , but on a regular basis you would think they would question the situation. The social services know all about it and apparantly the mother justifies it by saying she can talk to the child the whole way !
I haven't spoke to the lady myself and live a few streets away , but many locals have , there us even an old chap who says if he sees her walk past his window he stands at the bottom of his garden to make sure she gets there ok :0
locals say the parent has a slight learning difficulty , the situation is very sad and I think SS should be doing mote to help them both I for one will be glad when he starts school this year knowing he will be at least in a safe environment .
